Classes are taught on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10am or 12pm .  Minimum of 4 participants are required, payment due at the time of reservation.  Some accommodations can be made for evenings.  We are also available to conduct classes at YOUR VENUE should the requirements be met, just ask!

Pumpkin Succulent Centerpiece-  $85 Per Person

September 18th- November 8th

Includes:  1.5 hr. of instructions, HUGE locally grown fairy tale pumpkin, fresh succulent cuttings, fall toppings and generous amounts of supplies.  We will show you our technique for making this classic masterpiece and how to care for it so that it lasts for months.  Perfect for decorating your home for the season or to give as a gift to a hostess or friend. 12-14" Finished project.

Succulent Pot-Up Bowl-  $65 Per Person

Includes:  1.5 hr. of instructions, terracotta bowl and ample supplies of succulents, soil and rocks.  Learn how to design a succulent arrangement that looks like a professional created it.  We will teach you our techniques on choosing the succulents that go best together, have similar water/sunlight needs, and will grow together in harmony.  The information you learn at this class can go a long way in helping you create more succulent gardens at home.  We will help you keep your arrangement looking great by scheduling a follow-up appointment with you as needed, just let us know!  10.5" Finished Bowl  

Fairy Garden Bowl-  $65 Per Person

Includes: 1.5hrs of instruction, terracotta bowl, soil, rocks and figurines. Learn how to design a miniature garden complete with fairies, plants and a whole lot of whimsy! We show you how to construct pathways, fences, and use rock features. We will also instruct you on how to maintain your miniature garden, trim and water your plants.  This class is great for kids. We recommend children 8yrs and up. 

Terrarium Making- $80 Per Person

March 1st- May 31st only                                                                   

Includes: 1.5hr of instruction, beautiful 8" glass cloche, three terrarium plants, all substrates and figurine of your choice.  Learn how to build a self-sustaining environment for your plants.  We'll guide you through proper layering techniques and provide the right substrates needed for drainage.  We will also share our best design tips for a truly stunning terrarium.  Whether you're a plant pro or just starting out, terrariums are the perfect way to add greenery to your space with minimal upkeep.  8" finished terrarium.  Kids 12 and older.

Hi, I’m Diana—owner of Avantgarden! 🌿

Avantgarden combines my love of gardening, design, creativity, and teaching. I offer hands-on succulent and garden workshops, private events, custom designs, and mobile workshops throughout the greater Auburn area.

I also welcome small groups to my private Garden Studio in Granite Bay, nestled within my gardens and designed as a relaxed, inspiring place to gather, learn, and create.

Beyond workshops, Avantgarden includes an online store filled with carefully curated, high-quality garden-inspired home and seasonal décor for bringing a little of the garden into your home.

As a credentialed teacher with more than 30 years of experience in retail, merchandising, and design, I love sharing my knowledge and creativity with others.
